Yesterday was a horrible birthday! I think it's my worst birthday ever. It was my worst day ever. I was doing chores, as usual. I was just trying to stay out of the Samuels way, but I got in it big time. Frank had me burning leaves, and he got angry because I was reading while I was letting the leaves burn. He threw my book on the fire! Then he got all my other books and threw them on the fire, too! Even the one my dad gave me. He forced me to stand there while they burned.
He doesn't know about the new book, though... so I ran out in the forest last night and buried it so he could never find it and burn it. At least I think I did. It wasn't under my mattress when I woke up this morning and there were leaves and stuff in my bed, but I don't remember coming home. I just remember this really strange dream I had where I found a magic wand. It wasn't a good dream. I woke up terrified!
Last night wasn't so bad --- Rex went out trick or treating in his Jack Sparrow costume. He make a bad Jack Sparrow because he's mean and not at all funny. Trudy and Frank went to a party leaving me to hand out candy. It was okay, though. I at least got to be away from them.
Another weird thing is that I have a strange mark on my chest. It looks like a birthmark, but I never had one before... curiouser and curiouser.
